The industrial lubricants that are used in manufacturing processes or in any piece of machinery help to ensure that the components remain in good working order. Yet there are plenty of other compounds used today that help to lubricate components and those made from biodegradable materials are becoming increasingly popular. These kinds of lubricants are most frequently used in food manufacturing processes as the likelihood of it coming into contact with the products is extremely high.
All lubricants will be subdivided up into two categories. There are those which will be placed in the category where they are specifically developed for use with certain kinds of machinery. Then the others will be placed in the category where they are needed to help a specific device to function correctly. But each and every lubricant that is now being used will have undergone very rigorous and numerous tests to ensure that they can do what is required of them.
As mentioned most machinery will use either oil or grease in order to lubricate components within it. However, there are some machines and engines which will use water as a lubricant. The problem with water and some greases and oils is that they cannot withstand very high temperatures.
In fact the best types of oils which will need to be able to withstand extreme high temperatures are those made using either minerals or have been synthetically produced. Today the oils used to help lubricate many of the moving parts in your car will be made from either minerals or synthetics.
