This article is for all those who are actively seeking employment from home. I know from my own experience that the trip to your own work at home kingdom is not an easy one, often full of scams, wasted time, and money. Let me assure you, legitimate work at home jobs do exist. Once you learn to tap the market you may find yourself working for two or three.
From experience I can tell you to stop searching ezines and classifieds, they don't work like they do in the real world. If you want to make it as a work at home rep then you need to go the source. The source involves those individuals who currently work from home and even more so willing to share their success with you.
These sources that I've found are totally free and helpful. All that is needed is a decent resume and a little patience.
www.wahm.com or more commonly know as WorkatHomeMom.com. This is the first I came across in my search for that one of a kind work at home job. Where did I find my success? Well, I found it in the message boards. More specifically, in their telecommuting folder-there is a stick that says "First Stop for Newbies." This is a laundry list of work at home companies broken down by category. Examples include Customer Service, Data Entry, Background Research, and Medical Coding and Transcription Companies.
www.workplacelikehome.com This one speaks for itself. If you want a more direct way of locating a job then this is the one for you. Its simply one big message board full of women and men who share their experiences with various work at home jobs. The people are beyond supportive and often share with you who is hiring and what link is best to use.
www.ratracerebllion.com Another great resource. This one is probably the most streamlined site I've come across. It does not deal with contractor or employees opinions. It simply breaks down the work at home companies by category and allows you direct access to the companies application link.
www.dotcommommies.com This site gets 3 stars for information but gets 5 stars for their email newsletter which emails the most recent work at home job listings found on the internet. Yes they do the research, you do the applying. Nice and easy. Free Too!
Dare I even mention the last one. It's probably the most popular site for finding free lance, contractor, and sometimes even employee based work. It is www.craigslist.com. Locating your work at home job is as easy as doing a quick data search using tags like "telecommute" or "work at home". I've even found some contacts just looking in areas such as jobs and gigs. If you feeling ambitious place an ad under services. You just never know who might be looking that day.
Keep an open mind when it comes to work at home. What starts out as part time, with some persistence, can eventually lead to a full time income.
