Saving Bookkeeping Fees

by Cheryl L. True

Everyone wants to save on bookkeeping fees. As the economy tightens businesses look for ways of cutting costs, and so it would seem to make sense to "shop around" for book keeping services. Contact us now a quote

When you go to a two dollar shop and buy some cheap product, do you really expect it to stand the test of time? Yet there are business owners who are more interested in saving a few dollars each hour on their bookkeeping fees at the expense of the future of their business.

Where is the sense in handing over your financials to someone who is willing to undersell their services for whatever reasons some of which maybe a lack of confidence and /or experience in the services that they are providing.

Like any industry, skilled bookkeepers are in high demand, and cannot always accommodate new clients, so if you find a bookkeeper who's willing to cut their prices to gain new clients, be warned.

The client asked if we were willing to negotiate our bookkeeping rates to do their bookwork. "Good question" we said.

Would they were willing to cut the prices of the products they were selling? " Absolutely not!" they replied!

So they continued shopping around and they found a bookkeeper that was charging half the rates. And the result of that decision is that they now have to pay more.

The new bookkeeper that they engaged turned out to be worse than the previous bookkeeper, so now we have to spend time playing detectives, trying to work out what has been done to get the bookwork in such a mess.

The business owner had to come back to us (and still asked to negotiate our rates!!) to fix it all up, so we can move forward and bring the bookkeeping up to date

Business owners need to understand the difference between cost and price. A cheaply priced product or service can end up costing you much more in the long run.
