Marine jobs are plentiful and include a very large spectrum of possibilities. One area of focus deals with offshore oil and gas and the process in which it is completed. The most well known to the American public are the operating companies. These businesses are the ones responsible for obtaining the licenses for producing and exploring the ocean. Not only do most of these companies explore, many of them are in charge of the operation of the rig.
Contracting companies take pride in keeping the equipment in working order. The largest part of this field deals with maintenance and operational upkeep.
The FPSO field is a unique field that could prove to be one of the more interesting. This field deals with the process of storing the material once it has been brought up from the ocean floor. The floating storage containers are large barges that have been altered to stand in one place for many months and possibly years.
Finally, the service companies are those that deal with assisting. Any type of help that a drilling or operating company might need is dealt with by the service company. If you are interested in one of these fields the opportunities are out there.
