How To Live A Full Life With Large Amounts Of Debts?

by Edwood Woodward

Desire is a trait that distinguishes man from other species. Being social animals, our wants are not limited to survival only, we desire home, we desire comforts, and we desire luxuries. Fulfilment of these yearnings is not free of cost. Most of the time this cost is more than what we can afford. Our income and assets, at times cannot realise the price of our wants.

This is in no way a criticism. It is not just for the sake of own self that a person tends to go beyond his/her means. It is because as adults we are fraught with limitless responsibilities. College funds, mortgages, and car lease, are just a few examples of how and why we have to go beyond our resources.

The contemporary economic tools like a large variety of credit cards, auto mobiles, and home financing schemes, etc. have made it easier to pay out even when you do not have any money in your bank account, or in your pocket. These days, everyone tends to live an in debt life, which requires him to make more efforts and for longer durations of time. Today, the speed of life is exceeding the speed of light.

Nevertheless, at the same time, something that is being ignored by us is the quality of life. You cannot determine and describe the quality of life by the style and model of your car, or the number of rooms in your house. Rather quality of life is directly reflected by the pleasure that one gets from a life that is being spent well with loved ones.

It is most important that your liabilities and debts should not keep you away from living a life full of fun. This is most essential that you find time to relax and enjoy in bust schedule of your life. No one wants to keep you away from your responsibilities, but it is also important to allocate some moments of your daytime in enjoyable activities, and thoughts that are not related to your liabilities.

Just for one hour each day, read a good book or magazine, play with your children or just go out on a romantic stroll with your better half. For just that hour, forget your debts and responsibilities. That one hour will ensure at the end of the day that your day no matter how gruelling and tiring, it was well lived.

It will be nice to plan at least one picnic a month, a beautiful natural walk, or just a visit to a caf for a cup of coffee with your loved ones. These are comparatively inexpensive, but highly enjoyable activities. While spending your leisure time with family, try to stay away from thoughts of economic burdens.

At least once a year, take a holiday. Just do what you are interested in, and do it for some number of days. Several researches have shown that a holiday revitalises pent up energies, and ensure that you do not fall prey to chronic depression, and stress. Most importantly, try to accept the fact that these liabilities are a part of your life. You can in no way avoid them given the needs of your family and yourself. These debts are unavoidable. What you can do is, not let the debt burden stop you from living, and enjoying your life to the fullest.
