The Future Of Healthcare

by J. D Theis

With industries collapsing every now and then, it is not uncommon for people to wonder which industries are going to survive the mighty axe and live at least for some more decades. As one is confused with the career direction to pursue, it is become for people to dabble in things they had previously disregarded.

In fact, for such people, it will be heartening to know that the healthcare industry is one such industry which is going to continue growing and become stronger in the future. Even as other industries are dwindling in size, the healthcare industry keeps growing, adding millions of people in a matter of years.

Thanks to the stimulus package that was recently released by the government, the healthcare industry has also benefited tremendously. In fact, many people who are in the industry are happy with the fact that they continue to get a paycheck and even bonuses, for jobs well done. The recent stimulus has ensured that the industry is gearing up to become more modern and shifting more towards computers for the various tasks involved. Medical records are going digital, and so are a number of other things that are needed to ensure that information can be retrieved easily and swiftly, as required.

It is unfortunate that less than 15% of healthcare workers have embraced technology and have completely shifted to digital alternatives. With the new stimulus and planning, that number is tipped to grow and increase further. It has been estimated that the industry will benefit significantly by shifting to digital means, saving nearly $7 billion in all. This is quite a big number and should be reason enough for the industry to want to go ahead with the shift. Since the digital trend will also impact how people are going to interact, it makes a huge difference to how you go about doing the different things.

The digital revolution is already hitting the healthcare industries, with industry bigwigs like Google and Microsoft launching different versions of their products in the Electronic Medical Record department. In fact, many people are still curious about how they are going to adapt to the new change, but the fact remains that the transition process is nevertheless going on. Many people are already beginning to notice the change in their healthcare, and people are already taking advantage of the new system. It is only a matter of time before it gets standardized and everybody is using the same system.
